And while yes I agree there aren't as many options for boys as there are for girls - because lets face it there are only so many things you can do with a pair of shorts - there is another issue at play. Namely there isn't the same emotional investment in clothes for boys as there is for girls. A mum who wouldn't think twice about paying $60 for a dress for her daughter baulks at $50 for a pair of pants for her son.
After making boys clothes for over 3 years now (under my alter-ego Puppy Dogs Tails) I've come to the conclusion is while people want handmade clothes for their boys they don't want to pay handmade prices for them.
I've signed up to take part in a showcase (yes another one!) focusing solely on products for boys and I am interested to see what the response is. Its not till August but watch this space and if my new found blog-jo remains then I'll let you know how it goes.
